Removal of bus stops

Posted on May 9, 2023

A pair of bus stops installed on Coxwell Road by one of the developers back in 2020 have been removed following confusion about stops.

There was a marked bus stop by the yellow bin in the picture above, but following a safety audit, the county council was obliged to remove it. Since then, there has been confusion and some bus drivers continue to stop there, while others refuse. To add to the confusion, the stop remained on the bus stop database and is visible on Google and travel planners.

The stop has now been deleted and all bus operators told that they must not stop there. An OCC notice will be displayed at the town-direction stop, informing passengers that buses will no longer stop opposite and directing them to the nearest alternative southbound stop at Fernham Road.
