Faringdon Town Council Services

The Town Council is responsible for:

The Corn Exchange

This is a large function hall located in the town centre which is available for meetings, charity events, private parties and wedding receptions. The hall is equipped with a large kitchen and fully stocked bar. The fire limit of this facility is 200 (150 seated).

The Pump House, Market Place, Faringdon

This Georgian Grade II listed building is located in the town centre. Rooms are available to hire for meetings and small private functions.

The council now donate the theatre space at the rear of the Pump House to The Pump House project who organise a variety of activities for all, particularly young people.

Faringdon War Memorial/Old Town Hall

The Council are sole trustee of this town centre building, which is available for small meetings. The fire limit of this building is 50.

Open Spaces:

(a) Oakwood Park, Ash Close Faringdon

A small open space with play equipment suitable for small children.

(b) Tucker Park, Park Road, Faringdon

The Council are sole trustee of this large recreation ground which accommodates the Faringdon Town Football Club pavilion and Faringdon Judo Club hall. There is also a small play area with equipment suitable for small children which is managed by the Town Council.

(c) Town Park, Gloucester Street, Faringdon

A small park situated behind the library, which also serves as the entrance to Faringdon Junior School.

(d) All Saints’ Churchyard

(e) Highworth Road layby,  Highworth Road, Faringdon

(f) The Elms Tennis Court, this public tennis court in Faringdon is managed by a group of volunteers on behalf of Faringdon Town Council. This is located within the Faringdon Junior School playing field

(g) Christmas Lights – The Council is responsible for the erection, maintenance and removal of the Christmas Lights and work in conjunction with the Faringdon Rotary Club who organise the annual Festive Faringdon event.

(h) Allotments – The Town Council has 32 plots situated in Lechlade Road, Faringdon. These are very popular and there is a waiting list. For further details, contact Faringdon Town Council office, The  Corn Exchange, Faringdon, tel 01367 240281 or email [email protected]

Youth Services Grant Funding

The Council offer a grant funding stream, the main objective is to assist and facilitate projects that reach, engage and support as many Faringdon young people as possible and provide better life chances for our young people. For Further information please visit our website.

Faringdon Information Centre

The Council provides an Information Centre for the use of both residents and visitors. Contact 01367 240281 or email [email protected]

Faringdon Community Cinema 

The council offer a community cinema called the Regent Cinema which runs from the Corn Exchange. There is a blockbuster movie once a month as well as a Wednesday Matinee. Please see our webpage or visit [email protected] for details
