DISTRICT COUNCILLOR’S REPORT- TOWN COUNCIL MEETING 13 JULY 2016

  1. Local Plan Part 1. As you are aware the council has received a preliminary letter from the inspector indicating that he is likely to find the LP Part 1 sound, and could be adopted subject to certain modifications.  You will have seen further detailed updates published on the website.  The Inspector’s proposed modifications will be formally considered by cabinet in July.  Once the Inspector has confirmed acceptance of the modifications proposed, there will be a further consultation starting in August, with the final report expected in November 2016.
  2. New Chief Executive and Officer. The new Chief Executive, David Hill will start work on 1 Sep 16.

  1. Faringdon Neighbourhood Plan. The independent examiner’s report should be received by the middle of July.  However, he may wish to hold a public enquiry to consider the green space off Orchard Hill and Vale officers have been discussing this option with FTC.
