WHEREAS the Vale of White Horse District Council is satisfied that, on the occasion
of the Christmas Lights On Event, the following roads named below are likely to be
thronged or liable to be obstructed:
- Cornmarket
- Market Place
- London Street, from junction with Swan Lane to Market Place
- Church Street, from junction with Swan Lane to Market Place
NOW THEREFORE the Vale of White Horse District Council, in exercise of its
powers under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, hereby makes the
following Order:-
(1) Save as provided in Article 2 of this Order, between the hours of 09:30 and
19:00 on 30 November 2024, the streets as detailed above shall be closed to
all vehicular traffic.
(2) The restriction referred to in Article 1 of this Order shall not apply to emergency
service vehicles and shall be subject to the discretion of a Police Officer in
uniform.
(3) This Order may be cited as “The Vale of White Horse District Council
(Temporary Closure of Roads, Faringdon No.39) Order 202
