Health and Wellbeing strategy for Oxfordshire: webinar & survey

Posted on October 30, 2023

Join our webinar to have your say on a new Health and Wellbeing strategy for Oxfordshire

Healthwatch Oxfordshire is hosting a webinar on Thursday 9th November to enable people in Oxfordshire to find out more about a new Health and Wellbeing strategy for the county.

The strategy, which is being produced by the Health and Wellbeing Board, sets out how local organisations will work together to deliver what is needed to support people in Oxfordshire to make healthy choices, live independently and stay happier and healthier for longer. The draft strategy is currently out for public consultation with people being asked to comment on its principles and priorities.

Councillor Liz Leffman, Chair of the Oxfordshire Health and Wellbeing Board, and Dr Sam Hart, Vice Chair of the Board, will attend the webinar together with county council public health officers who have led on the draft strategy.

They will explain why the strategy is needed, how it was developed and what it sets out to do as well taking questions and comments about it.

The webinar will run from 12.15pm-1.15pm and will be held via Zoom. All are very welcome to attend – to join on the day please click on this link.

A recording of the webinar will be added to our website for those who cannot attend. If you cannot make it, but have a question you would like to ask please email us at [email protected]

Dr Veronica Barry, Executive Director of Healthwatch Oxfordshire, said: “This such an important plan for Oxfordshire so we are really keen that people are able to hear from members of the Health and Wellbeing Board about how the strategy was developed and have a chance to have their say on it. Please do come along to our webinar to find out more, ask questions and have your say.”

Healthwatch Oxfordshire helped make sure people’s views were heard in the initial development of the draft strategy this summer by speaking to 1,114 people about what helps them to stay healthy and well. We fed back what we heard to the Health and Wellbeing Board – you can read our report on that work here.

You can read the draft Oxfordshire Health and Wellbeing Strategy and have your say on it by completing Oxfordshire County Council’s online survey here. Please note this survey will close on 12th November.

Responses will help highlight any changes that may need to be made to the strategy before it is formally adopted by the Health and Wellbeing Board in 2024.
