Mayors Activity Nov and Dec 2020

Friday 1st November: represented the town at the Chairman of the VoWHDC’s Charity Dinner at the Guildhall, Abingdon.

Tuesday 5th November: represented the town at the Ceremony to Celebrate Freedom of the Town for three Abingdon women in the Guildhall, Abingdon-on-Thames.

Wednesday 6th November: attended the Women’s Fellowship 90th Anniversary Celebration in United Church.

Thursday 7th – 11th November: involved in the War Memorial Exhibition in the OTH.

Friday 8th November: manned the War Memorial Exhibition in the OTH.

Friday 8th November: took part in the 9th Annual Festival of Remembrance in the Corn Exchange with a reading on Faringdon casualties involved in the Battle of Normandy, 1944.

Saturday 9th November: manned the War Memorial Exhibition in the OTH.

Sunday 10th November: took part in the Service of Remembrance in All Saint’s and at Ceremony at the War Memorial.

Monday 11th November: led the Ceremony of Remembrance for the RBL at the War Memorial.

Monday 11th November: attended the AGM of the Faringdon Twinning Association.

Wednesday 13th November: formally received a planter, made by Callum, to sit outside the Pump House.

Tuesday 19th November: attended a briefing with the Town Clerk on Bias in Decision Making at the Beacon, Wantage.

Friday 22nd November: represented the town at the switching on of the Carterton Christmas Lights.

Wednesday 27th November: attended the AGM of Oxfordshire Mind at the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy.

Saturday 30th November: opened the Lord Berners Exhibition in the Pump House.

Saturday 30th November: assisted in turning on the lights for Festive Faringdon.

Monday 2nd December: introduced proceedings at the Town Meeting in the Corn Exchange.

Thursday 5th November: turned on the Christmas lights at Ferendune Court as part of the Anchor Homes united switch-on.

Saturday 7th December: attended the Young Traders’ Market in the Corn Exchange and related events in the town.

Sunday 8th December: represented the town at the Burford Civic Carol Service at St John the Baptist, Burford.
