Please see Oxfordshire County Council’s consultation webpage at Faringdon – proposed parking & loading restrictions | Let’s Talk Oxfordshire for all plans and supporting documents.
Their webpage says:-
Following the introduction of Civil Parking Enforcement in 2021 the County Council has received requests to review existing parking provision & restrictions from towns & parishes across Oxfordshire.
As a result – in liaison with Faringdon Town Council’s ‘Highways & Planning Committee’ a review of existing restrictions within the town centre has been undertaken, resulting in proposed amendments to the yellow line restrictions & time-limited waiting (1-hour time limit) parking provisions in Marlborough Street. An alteration is also proposed to the existing single yellow line the Market Place recognising the change in the times of the market.
Additional parking restrictions will be introduced on the B4019 Coxwell Street & Radcot Road in the form of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (Double Yellow Lines), which will assist with the free-flow of traffic through the removal of parked vehicles causing obstruction & hindering visibility.
Finally, loading restrictions in the vicinity of Cornmarket will be introduced around the ‘triangle’ ensuring the area is kept clear of traffic, with the nearby dedicated loading bay on Gloucester Street being restricted to 30mins on Monday to Saturdays during the daytime (i.e. between 8am & 6pm).
Have your say.
Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by 5pm on Friday 05th September 2025.
Whilst we will endeavour to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.
What happens next?
The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2025. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting). The Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here(External link).
